Senior Product Manager

As a Senior Product Manager at Science Exchange, you will bridge the gap between strategy and execution, ensuring a seamless transition from product vision to development and delivery. You will own the product backlog, clearly define requirements, and collaborate closely with engineering, design, and leadership to build, test, and launch high-impact features. Given our size, this role blends product ownership with some product design (namely, creating wireframes and flows), making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Ideal candidates will have a background in enterprise financial technologies (e.g. P2P systems, procurement systems, etc…)

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from feature definition and prioritization to execution, delivery, and iteration.

  • Act as the Product Owner for platform development, defining clear, detailed user stories and acceptance criteria to guide the engineering team.

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment between product, engineering, design, and business stakeholders.

  • Drive the solutioning process with the Head of Product, ensuring features are designed with scalability, adoption, and business impact in mind.

  • Partner with engineering and data teams to gather and synthesize key product metrics (e.g., feature adoption, sprint velocity, quality metrics) on a monthly or weekly basis to support decision-making.

  • Collaborate with R&D leadership to optimize the SDLC by improving tooling and processes (JIRA, Confluence) as needed.

  • Conduct acceptance testing to validate that features meet business requirements before release.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the biopharma industry and Science Exchange’s platform to make informed product decisions.

  • Proactively communicate development progress, risks, and delays to both business and technical stakeholders, ensuring transparency when timelines shift.

  • Partner with Customer Experience and Go-To-Market teams to ensure seamless product rollouts, clear documentation, and internal enablement.

  • Gather and synthesize user feedback to drive continuous product improvements.

Key Metrics for Success (KPIs)

  • Faster time to market for new features.

  • Quality Product with very little known customer issues.

  • On-time delivery of product releases.

  • Support in maintaining visibility on key product KPIs, ensuring the Head of Product has the right data for decision-making.

  • Proactive communication of development progress and risks to business and engineering teams.

Technical Competencies

  • Technical Workflows & APIs: Experience working with APIs, integrations, and platform development—not necessarily coding but able to read API documentation and collaborate with engineers on technical requirements.

  • System & Data Flow Awareness: Can map out user data flows and work with engineering to ensure features fit within the platform architecture.

  • JIRA & Agile Execution: Strong ability to write clear tickets, manage sprint workflows, and ensure alignment with engineering.

  • Documentation & Knowledge Management: Proficiency in Confluence, Notion, or similar tools for clear product documentation and collaboration with teams.

  • Product Analytics & Data: Comfortable using tools like Google Analytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Looker to pull insights on feature adoption and user behavior. Able to support metric gathering for the Head of Product.

Non-Technical Competencies

  • Ability to handle change, ambiguity, and complexity with resilience while maintaining an organized approach.

  • Strong product instincts and a customer-first mindset—balancing user needs with business impact.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to align and influence cross-functional teams.

  • A bias for action and problem-solving mindset to drive product improvements efficiently.

  • Ability to use creativity to develop innovative solutions that enhance user experience and business outcomes.
